Unemployment Simulator 2018 (soundtrack)

Unemployment Simulator 2018 is an independent video game created by artist Samuel Lehikoinen, published 3 February 2026 by TurboLento Games.

The autobiographical video game depicts an especially uneventful period of the creator’s life in the year 2018. The game works as an endless loop where the objective is to survive as long as possible in the mind numbing limbo of the Finnish unemployment system. To progress through each day you must complete mundane tasks while dealing with loneliness, anxiety, and staying distracted and dopamine filled to avoid death by boredom.

Spotlighted in PC Gamer Magazine, winner of Chat’s Choice award in the OTK Games Expo (2025), and listed as the #1 most anticipated culture of 2026 by Yle

Mad Myth Science

Mad Myth Science is the collective musical offering of Molly Jones, Julian Otis, Wilson Tanner Smith, and Ben Zucker. Their through-improvised performances present a rich cross-section of Chicago creativity, bringing experience in jazz and creative music, contemporary composition, electronics, and dance and theatrical performing arts together into a pageantry of sound and spontaneous rituals.

"It’s striking, and unlike anything else you’ll hear this year. Jazz as theatrical art music, without the slightest tinge of preciousness." (Stereogum)

“the considerate use of space and generous inclusion of all kinds of made sounds recognisable in the work of Roscoe Mitchell or Muhal Richard Abrams, but made in and for the 21st century, where genre and background give way to performance of all kinds of modes of intensities.” (The Wire)

“The group approach their heady but playful blend of improvisation and chamber music with a keen, vibrant sense of humor that recalls the earliest work of the Art Ensemble of Chicago…” (Chicago Reader)
